Director's Message

Dear Santa Monica Families,

 Welcome to Santa Monica Boulevard Community Charter School (SMBCCS); one of five Fenton Charter Public Schools (FCPS) in the Los Angeles area. SMBCCS became a Fenton school in 2012 and is an organization with over twenty-five years experience in successful Charter management, implementing successful instructional practices, and holding the “whole-child” to high standards.  Our school community of staff, students, families and our close partnerships in the area, Paramount Studios, Uplift Family Services, Codespark Academy, 9Dots, and the Boys and Girls Club of Hollywood continues to provide high quality, rigorous, and innovative programming and resources to our families.  SMBCCS exposes students to enriching lessons with an added instructional focus on developing proficiency in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. We provide students with the tools they need to be successful in elementary school and beyond.  

We want our families to know that we are always available to answer your questions and assist you when you need us.  To do so, Santa Monica offers several resources including 2 full-time psychologists, 4 educational specialists, a full-time school counselor, a registered behavior technician, 2 state-of-the-art iLabs that are led by 2 instructional technology coaches providing Computer Science instruction, and an Apple-certified teacher in every classroom.
