Interim Assessments

Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) Assessments

SMBCCS has implemented the Northwest Evaluation Association (“NWEA”TM) and Measures of Academic Progress® (“MAP”®) online assessments. NWEA MAP Assessments to measure students’ progress in mathematics (K-6), reading (K-6), and language use (2-6). The Measures of Academic Progress® creates a personalized assessment experience by adapting to each student’s learning to precisely measuring student progress and growth for each individual. Student MAP testing results are reported in RIT scores (short for Rasch Unit). A RIT score is an estimation of a student’s instructional level and also measures student progress or growth. A RIT score will vary from grade to grade as a student grows. The MAP assessments were first implemented during the 2015-2016 school year.
